Το κεντρικό θέμα του πρώτου ελληνικού World IA Day (http://worldiaday.org/locations/hermoupolis-syros-greece) είναι “how we can use experience design to make the world a better place”. Πώς μπορούμε να χρησιμοποιήσουμε το λειτουργικό σχεδιασμό απλών αντικειμένων και διαδικασιών για να βελτιώσουμε τον κόσμο μας; Πώς μπορούμε να αλλάξουμε προς το καλύτερο την καθημερινότητά μας στο σπίτι ή στην εργασία μας, σε μία επίσκεψη στο θέατρο ή στο μουσείο, στην ανάγνωση ενός βιβλίου ή στη συμμετοχή μας σε ένα παιχνίδι;
http://adaxem.eu/elektronik)
http://adaxem.eu/invitation).

AGENDA
12:00 – 12:20 EET
Reading Experience: from print to digital
What -if at all- is a reading experience? How does it differ across media and content types? What is lost and what is gained, for the reader, in the print to digital transition? More importantly, how does purpose affect the experience? How do all these -and other- factors affect design (including information architecture, layout, typography, etc.), production, delivery, and the total experience? Andreas will touch upon such questions and issues, focusing on challenges and opportunities for books and long form reading, and will -hopefully- map a few key points of view that advance our perspective on the reading experience.
12:30 – 12:50 EET
Next Week’s Curator
This presentation is a meditation on the future evolution of the art museum curator. Koven J. Smith, principal at Kinetic Museums Consulting, will take a future-focused look at the curatorial role, re-framing it in terms of today’s technology. Curators are fantastic researchers, able to pull together multiple disparate threads of information into a coherent whole, but their training and output has not kept up with the changing marketplace of information. This talk will seek to address that situation by looking at the output of curatorial process and research from a linked open data/semantic web standpoint, and speculate on what changes that will bring to the museum sector as a whole.
13:00 – 13:20 EET
Designing Experiences for Kids
It is widely known that experiences play an important role in children’s development. Are designers capable of designing experiences for kids? Can designers make parents happy through their purchases? Can designs be both fun and educational for kids? Join Andreas Kioroglou to learn how to design fun experiences for kids, purchasing experiences for parents and profit experiences for manufacturers.
13:30 – 13:50 EET
Do not Disturb – about eating and desires / Straw – a walk through the design process / Application Design for smartphone devices used in educational contexts
Featuring Katharina Leistenschneider, Sofia Antzel, Klairi Kostoglou, Dimitris Seleridis and John Noussis
15:00 – 15:20 EET
Do not reinvent the wheel, make the best wheel on the market
As a guitar player I always used pedals. I was 13 years old when I bought my first one. I have also always been into rock music; Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Camel were my favourites. I started building my own guitar effects in 2005, first out of simple curiosity, and after that as a hobby. I wanted to reproduce the sounds I heard in albums from the 60’s and the 70’s. The secret to getting those sounds was sometimes hidden in old and sometimes discontinued parts. Unexpectedly, I soon began to be asked to build pedals for great guitar players that I admired, who heard my effects and dug their sound. That made me realise there could be more to this than just a hobby. JAM pedals were born.
15:30 – 15:50 EET
Top Eleven Achievements
Top Eleven is updated on a weekly basis but every couple of months we introduce a new feature in the game. This time we’re making possible to record achievements made by our players regularly interacting with the game and allow them to easily compare the quality of their opponents. From early concept and idea to the actual publishing in-game, this presentation will be a complete overview of this feature.
16:00 – 16:20 EET
Educated and inspired by real life
There are certain professions that kids are dreaming about to practice as grownups, such as being an astronaut, a doctor or a firefighter, to name a few. It seems that Information Architect is not on this list. Many of these professions require specific skills or natural talents. Is it possible to have an inclination to become an IA? What can inspire or even motivate a UXD? Themis Chapsis will share his thoughts on these topics and guide you through the answer that will make you travel that extra mile at the end of each day and get the job well done.
16:30 – 16:50 EET
Does commercial design make the world a better place? / Fingerjoin / Experience the Uncomfortable
Featuring Zoe Kollia (XYZ Grafistiki), Maria-Eftichia Marentaki and Katerina Kamprani
17:30 – 17:50 EET
The effort visualised
Q&A session with Pavlos Chatzigrigoriou
18:00 – 18:20 EET
UX Deathmatch
How can small companies compete with behemoths with 10 times their budget? How do some products use UX and solid architecture to compete with products with far superior specs? Vangelis Bibakis investigates in UX Deathmatch.
18:30 – 18:50 EET
The Collective Interface
Our digital culture is defined by the chaotic architecture of the colossal amounts of data produced. For that, we create algorithms, design visualisations and flows of information, in order to make sense of the data and use them to improve our lives. However, recent advances in network technologies point to a new direction, the formation of the collective human intelligence. Panagiotis Kovanis will be talking about how design can connect people across the globe so as to turn them into a powerful tool for analysing data and solving complex problems.
20:00 – 22:00 EET
Live at the Apollon Theatre
An exclusive performance by Elektronik Meditation featuring Andreas Polyzogopoulos on trumpet and Nikos Sidirokastritis on drums
